[New Taipei City News] Center of Excellence for Intelligent Organic Marketing in Asia (CEIOMA), under the guidance of the Agriculture Department of New Taipei City Government, cooperated with IFOAM Asia, the world’s most significant organic agriculture NGO, to hold “IFOAM Asia × CEIOMA — Organic Agriculture Brings a Better Future” marketing seminar at the New Taipei City Green Living House. The event lasted for two days. In addition to the on-site participants, foreign friends also joined online. Today’s training was completed with six speakers from three countries (December 20). Vice Mayor Ming-Ji Wu of the New Taipei City Government thanked the speakers and distributed the certificate to the attendants who completed the 2-day seminar.

Salvatore Basile, Co-President of Global Alliance of Organic Districts (GAOD), Italy, shared how to build a global organic producer and consumer community; Moon Ji Young, a public relations official from Hansalim Cooperative Federation, and Youngsang Cho, Founder of JADAM Organic Farming, both from South Korea, introduced organic agriculture in which producers and consumers cooperate to concrete trust, as well as the successful experience of the practice of economically feasible organic agricultural law. For speakers from Taiwan, Chien-Chang (Robert) Chen, CEO and Principal of TANO Secure Inc., brought new knowledge in intelligent agriculture to participants. Huei-Wen Chin, Secretary-general of Association of Taiwanese Indigenous Peoples’ Development, discussed the possibility of building an e-shop for agricultural marketing. Tien-Sheng Kang, Section Chief of Northern Region Branch, Agriculture and Food Agency, also brought organic marketing guiding experience used by government-industry-university fields.

Vice Mayor Ming-Ji Wu emphasized that the city government adheres to the “Access to Markets: A Road to Sustainability” strategy to drive the organic industry through the consumption power of New Taipei City. Therefore, this 2-day seminar used this idea as the core to discuss two keywords: Organic and Opportunity, hoping to make cities and villages, producers and consumers live and work in peace and steady status, and support the concept of “Organic Agriculture bring a Better Future,” to make the environment better and more sustainable.

The representative of the Agriculture Department stated that despite the Pandemic being ongoing, they still work hard to offer solid and virtual seminars and courses to strengthen the international connection of Taiwan’s organic industry. Agriculture Department was also invited to share with local governments in France, Portugal, Sweden, Japan, and South Korea. etc., the experience of the New Taipei City Government’s globally-recognized Organic School Meal Policy this past October. Combining global resources is one of the purposes of CEIOMA. In addition to promoting talent cultivation and international cooperation, it encourages the “Eco-friendly Contractual Farming Affiliate Platform” to open up a more significant and stable market for farmers and create higher profits.
