[Marketing Courses] IFOAM Asia × CEIOMA — Organic Agriculture brings a Better Future

[New Taipei City News] To promote the exchange of talents in the field go organic agriculture marketing, the Center of Excellence for Intelligent Organic Marketing in Asia (CEIOMA), under the guidance of the Agriculture Department, New Taipei City Government, cooperated with IFOAM Asia, the world’s most significant organic agriculture NGO, to hold “IFOAM Asia × CEIOMA — Organic Agriculture Brings a Better Future” marketing seminar at the New Taipei City Green Living House from December 19th – 20th, 2020. The conference invites domestic and foreign speakers from Taiwan, South Korea, Italy, etc., to share their valuable experience and agricultural marketing knowledge.

Salvatore Basile, Italy, will share how to build a community to support organic consumption and create such a community worldwide through the Global Alliance of Organic Districts (GAOD). Moon Ji Young from Hansalim Cooperative Federation, and Youngsang Cho, Founder of JADAM Organic Farming, both from South Korea, will share their successful strategies in production to consumption in an organic method. Huei-Wen Chin, Secretary-general of the Association of Taiwanese Indigenous Peoples’ Development, will mention her experience in indigenous communities and how small farmers can market agricultural products. Chien-Chang (Robert) Chen, CEO/Principal of TANO Secure Inc. and the senior consultant of the World Climate Foundation, will introduce ideas for intelligent agriculture and other agricultural innovations. Agriculture and Food Agency, COA, is invited to summarize and prospect the current situation of Taiwan’s organic agriculture and seek opportunities to bring Taiwan a better future.

CEIOMA was officially in operation in February 2019. CEIOMA launched new agricultural products this year, discussed business models with farmers in New Taipei City, and regularly exchanged and shared experiences and techniques with agrarian workers worldwide. CEIOMA members participated in organic introductory training series courses hosted by the ALOGA, South Korean (Asian local governments for organic agriculture Summit) in 2019, and got certificates; members were also invited to participate in ALOGA’s 6th annual summit, to share the achievements and experience of promoting organic school meals with local governments in France, Portugal, Sweden, Japan, South Korea, etc. We invite everyone interested in this theme to join us.

Agriculture Department stated that the establishment of CEIOMA not only promotes talent development and international exchanges but also continues to promote the operation of the “Eco-friendly Contractual Farming Affiliate Platform” and continues the main idea of “Access to Markets: A Road to Sustainability” as to open up a more significant and more stable market for farmers and create higher profits.
